STEPHANIE MACDONALD & SUSAN MACLEAN BRING THREE EVENINGS OF TRADITIONAL CAPE BRETON FIDDLE AND PIANO AT THE RED SHOE.
Raised in Whycocomagh, Stephanie MacDonald has been playing fiddle and step dancing since the age of five. With deep family connections to Cape Breton music, she performs regularly at square dances, ceilidhs and concerts and is a longtime member and current musical director of the Cape Breton Fiddlers’ Association.
Joining Stephanie is Washabuck native Susan MacLean, an accomplished Cape Breton pianist, fiddler, composer and educator. Susan has taught traditional Cape Breton-style piano accompaniment at Colaisde na Gàidhlig | The Gaelic College for more than 30 years and has performed at dances, concerts and festivals including Celtic Colours and KitchenFest. Together, Stephanie and Susan bring the fiddle-and-piano tradition to three evenings of Suppertime Tunes in Mabou.
