    Key Responsibilities:

    - Develop and execute seasonal menus that highlight local ingredients and flavours, aligning with the Red Shoe Pub’s commitment to quality and community.

    - Manage kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering, and maintaining health and safety standards.

    - Lead, train, and inspire the kitchen team to deliver consistently high-quality dishes.

    - Collaborate with management to align the culinary direction with the overall vision of the pub.

    - Engage with suppliers and local producers to source the best ingredients.

    - Oversee budgeting for the kitchen, including food cost management and labour costs.

    Qualifications:

    - Proven experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or in a similar leadership role in a kitchen.

    - A strong culinary background with a passion for local and seasonal cuisine.

    - Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a track record of motivating and developing a team.

    - Knowledge of best practices in kitchen management and food safety.

    - Creativity in menu planning and a keen eye for detail.

    - Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

  • Job Description: Sous Chef

    We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at the Red Shoe Pub. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of exceptional food quality and service.

    Responsibilities:

    - Assist the Head Chef in planning and coordinating all aspects of the kitchen, including menu development, food preparation, and presentation

    - Oversee and supervise the kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness

    - Collaborate with the Head Chef to create and update menus, taking into consideration seasonal availability, customer preferences, and cost control

    - Assist in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels to minimize waste and maximize efficiency

    - Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to help them develop their culinary skills and knowledge

    - Ensure all dishes are prepared and plated according to established recipes and presentation guidelines

    - Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting any maintenance or repair needs promptly

    - Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of food orders

    - Stay updated with industry trends, new cooking techniques, and ingredients, and contribute creative ideas to enhance the menu offerings

    Requirements:

    - Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, preferably in a busy pub or restaurant environment

    - Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen procedures

    - Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team

    - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality

    - Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality food

    - Strong organizational and time management skills

    - Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

    - Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends
