TWO ACCLAIMED TRADITIONAL MUSICIANS COME TOGETHER FOR A SUNDAY MATINÉE ROOTED IN CAPE BRETON AND NOVA SCOTIA’S GAELIC MUSICAL TRADITIONS.

Mabou native Andrea Beaton is an award-winning fiddler, composer and recording artist known for her powerful bow, driving style and deep roots in the Beaton and MacMaster musical traditions. Andrea has toured and taught internationally, released seven solo albums and published three collections of her original tunes. Her album Branches received the East Coast Music Award for Instrumental Recording of the Year.

Troy MacGillivray of Lanark, Nova Scotia is an accomplished fiddler, pianist and step dancer whose music is grounded in his family's Scottish and Gaelic traditions. He began step dancing at six and was teaching piano at the Gaelic College by thirteen. His career has taken him around the world as a performer and teacher, and his recordings have earned numerous award nominations and wins.

Andrea and Troy have a long musical history together, including their collaborative album Face the Music. Their pairing brings together powerful fiddle playing, piano, step dancing and the unmistakable drive of the traditional music they grew up with.
