MABOU’S KENNETH MACKENZIE & GUEST BRING DEEP GAELIC ROOTS AND CAPE BRETON TRADITION TO FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE RED SHOE.
Raised in Mabou in a Gaelic-speaking and musical family, Kenneth MacKenzie has deep roots in Cape Breton’s traditional music and culture. He has performed at concerts, dances and festivals throughout Cape Breton and internationally, carrying the music and Gaelic culture of his home community with him.
Kenneth recorded Pìob is Fìdheall with his brother Angus MacKenzie, a project that received recognition from both Music Nova Scotia and the East Coast Music Awards. He has also been actively involved in Gaelic language and cultural education in Mabou.
Kenneth is joined by a special guest for Friday night at the Red Shoe.
