AWARD-WINNING CAPE BRETON FIDDLER CHRISSY CROWLEY JOINS CHÉTICAMP PIANIST JASON ROACH FOR A NIGHT OF POWERFUL, TRADITION-ROOTED CAPE BRETON MUSIC AT THE RED SHOE.

Margaree fiddler Chrissy Crowley has built an international career while keeping Cape Breton tradition at the heart of her music. Her album Last Night’s Fun won the 2013 Canadian Folk Music Award for Instrumental Solo Recording of the Year, and she has performed, recorded and toured extensively with the award-winning group Còig.

Joining her is Chéticamp pianist Jason Roach, known for his distinctive, high-energy approach to Cape Breton piano. A graduate of St. Francis Xavier University, Jason has toured internationally with groups including Còig, Sprag Session and The Step Crew and has appeared on numerous Cape Breton recordings. Chrissy and Jason have shared the stage and toured together for years, making this a pairing deeply rooted in Cape Breton's traditional music.
