MARGIE BEATON, DAWN BEATON & JAMES MACLEAN BRING DEEP CAPE BRETON ROOTS AND A SHARED CONNECTION TO THE ISLAND’S TRADITIONAL MUSIC TO SUNDAY MATINÉE.

Mabou sisters Margie and Dawn Beaton grew up immersed in the music, dance and Gaelic culture of their community. Both have carried those traditions to stages throughout Cape Breton and beyond while remaining closely connected to the musical life of Mabou.

They are joined by East Lake Ainslie’s James MacLean, a respected traditional musician with deep roots in Cape Breton music. Together, Margie, Dawn and James bring years of tradition, experience and a strong connection to Cape Breton culture to an afternoon at the Red Shoe.
