River Tillard’s Donna Marie DeWolfe has been immersed in Cape Breton music from an early age, growing up with musicians on both sides of her family. A familiar presence at dances, ceilidhs and traditional music events, she has developed a style shaped by generations of Cape Breton musicians and the musical community around her.

She is joined by Allan Dewar, a respected Cape Breton musician and longtime accompanist who has performed and recorded with many of the island’s leading traditional artists. Together, Donna Marie and Allan bring years of experience, deep traditional roots and the unmistakable character of Cape Breton music to opening night at the Red Shoe.
