Suppertime Music with Stephanie McDonald & Susan MacLean

Ease into your Saturday evening with the sweet sounds of Stephanie McDonald and Susan MacLean at The Red Shoe Pub.

Stephanie MacDonald, a fiddler and step dancer from Whycocomagh, has been immersed in Cape Breton's musical traditions since the age of five. A dedicated educator, she teaches high school math, chemistry, and music at Dalbrae Academy in Mabou. Stephanie is a long-time member and board director of the Cape Breton Fiddlers’ Association, performing at dances, concerts, and festivals across Nova Scotia and beyond.

Susan MacLean, hailing from Washabuck and now residing in the Sydney area, is renowned for her Cape Breton-style piano accompaniment. With a deeply rooted musical heritage, she has taught piano at Colaisde na Gàidhlig / the Gaelic College since the mid-1990s and has performed at events like Celtic Colours and KitchenFest. Susan is also a composer and fiddle player, contributing significantly to the island's musical landscape.

Join us on May 31, 2025, from 7:00–9:00 PM for live Cape Breton music, hearty food, and a welcoming atmosphere in the heart of Mabou.

There’s no cover charge — just great music, a relaxed vibe, and the kind of evening you’ll want to stay for.
